Splashweb is the trading name for Mark Ayres, an internet marketing specialist & domain name registrar, providing website promotion & advertising services. I came to the internet in the mid-nineties whilst living in New Zealand [Aotearoa] & immediately connected with the technology & the fantastic opportunities it was going to throw up for us all. At that time I setup an ecommerce store selling classic motorcycle parts worldwide at brtishspares.com, but returned to the UK in 2000 to set up Splashweb. I've since been immersed in the complexities of website publishing & promotion, internet marketing & domain name acquisition.

I've always been a technologist, but this all seems a long way from having previously spent over ten years in the UK manufacturing industry, including being "time served" at former chronometer makers Thomas Mercer & pre-sales roles in industrial automation systems with Fanuc Robotics UK. In 1988 I graduated with a MSc in Advanced Manufacturing Technology at Cranfield University (formerly the Cranfield Institute of Technology) in the UK.
