Your
site audience
If your web site is an extension to an existing business the
chances are that you already know your typical customer, you
talk to them at the counter, on the phone, and you feel you've
got a picture in your mind. Now translate that to the Web, and
try to figure out what will work for them there, and what their
expectations are likely to be.
Take every opportunity to discuss your site with customers,
and realise that whilst the Internet gives you easy access to
a world market if you want it, it will also expose you if you
get it wrong too often. Make someone responsible internally
for working with the site to ensure that it really does become
an integral part of your business.
Encourage people to use your site and it'll still be working
for you long after you've gone to bed. |
