Choosing a domain name for your company/site needs to
done with thought, as there are subtle reasons why one name
may be more suitable than another. Be sure to register a domain
name, even if you're not considering owing a website at this
stage. There may well be secondary domain names that you should
consider ownership of too if they are close to your chosen name,
or related to your products. The cost of owning domains is low,
and availability is getting poor in the "known" domains
such as ".com" and ".co.uk". There are other
domains available, introduced to meet demand, such as ".biz",
but as yet these are unfamiliar to people.
It's important to have a good domain name for a commercial site,
particularly if you're going to be investing time and money
over the coming years to build your online brand and traffic;
look on it as your business premises. |
